Soul and the Spirit

Tripartriate Being

Tripartriate Being

” For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Heb 4:12 NKJV

I have always being curious about what this verse really meant. How could it divide the soul and the spirit?
What is the soul, spirit and what is the body. I search for answers and I also asked the Holy Spirit to reveal what this scripture meant and he did.
The body is defined simply as the physical structure of a person, including the bones, flesh and organs.
The soul is a person’s moral or emotional nature or sense of identity. It is from here we derive our thoughts, our wills, desires, emotions as well as our ability to reason.
The spirit is the part that lives forever and desires to know about and connect with God. The spirit can see. Touch smell, feel, and hear just like the physical body. The health of your faith determines the kind of life the spirit lives.

Now back to the scripture above. How does the word sever the soul and the spirit? It simple by reading and being a doer of the word. As I said earlier the health of your faith determines the kind of life the spirit lives. As you becomes born again, a measure of faith is given unto you. You only become born again by faith. It can only grow by hearing and hearing of the word and as the word becomes part of you, your desire will be only to do what the Lord wants, that is not being conformed to things of the world Rom 12:2. That is when the severence takes place. May the grace of God be with you all.
